Quick Wallet Summary:
Open-source, non-custodial, no PII, no analytics, native Segwit (Bech32 addresses only at this time), Electrum, multi-wallet, Bitcoin/Litecoin, mainnet/testnet supported. Built with React Native. The main UI is fully-inspired by the lightning-app, really love what they did and used it to help guide the wallet’s development. It relies on bitcoinjs-lib quite heavily and utilizes a NodeJS thread to connect to a custom or random Electrum server for access to its JSON-RPC methods.
The wallet is tentatively named Bitbip (I’m open to other suggestions!) and still in alpha. Since it’s still in alpha, I would only encourage use of the testnet chains at this time, but I’m still excited to be able to share my work so far. I know there are plenty of mistakes and improvements that can be made so if you do experiment with the app or take a peek at the code please consider forwarding your productive criticism to Github or DM me on Twitter
I have dedicated this year to learning, building and contributing where I can. This will be my first large open-source contribution and I’m really excited to continue learning from, improving upon and expanding this app.
